When tragedy strikes, i have a hard time ignoring it, hence the parentheses post from the usual content.
My deepest thoughts and well wishes go out to those affected by this latest earthquake/tsunami and the nuclear emergency evacuation. In today’s Globe and Mail, there’s a very succinct and relevant article on the details of Japan’s geographic location and the where, what and why of this week’s quake: “Japan’s earthquake on Friday measured 8.9 on the Richter scale, making it about 1,000 times more intense than the quake that struck Haiti last year.”
Donating money to the Red Cross is made incredibly easy these days so I urge Canadians to text the word, ASIA to 30333 for a $5 donation that will go towards relief efforts.
These sort of events always lead me to be so grateful for what I have. It sounds so simple and honestly, the notion is thrown around so much, I’m not even sure it’s as valued as it should be, but really when I went to sleep last night, I was so thankful to be living in Montreal, with a (nice) roof over my head and never wanting of life’s basic needs. Fashion is what drives me, but a little perspective reminder is never undervalued in my books.
Thanks for reading my spiel guys

I feel the same- so utterly helpless for those people. All I can do is send them my prayers and thank god for all that I have and that my loved ones are safe. I couldn't post anything but a little thought for those in need right now.
