| kitchen’in: maple-oatmeal scones |
August 25th, 2011
Growing up, September marked the beginning of my favourite time of year. What used to be back to school and a trip to the supplies store for new pens and notebooks and enough Post-It’s to warrant shares in 3M, is now a few newsstand rounds for The September issues and stocking up on cozy knits and lush fall staples I can never get enough of. Another big autumn tradition around here is clocking in kitchen time (I guess growing up with a chef mom had a lasting effect on me after all).
So with fall around the corner, my cooking/baking habits are slowly picking up as I can’t help but crave all the hearty, earthy flavours that parallel the chillier temperatures and changing leaves in the form of comfort food. If you’re on the same foodie page as I, this Barefoot Contessa recipe (which I first spotted here!) for rich, melt in your mouth flaky scones will not disappoint. Served with tea for breaky they’re irresistible!

yum yum
mmmmm i see you've been up to some serious housewife duties lately
