December 31st: the details
December 31st 2011. One for the books. I’m not usually big on the last day of the year’s festivities but this year’s low expectations, physical distance from the hype I’d probably have experienced if I was home, both matched with the night’s amazing set-up turned out a pretty incredible night. A low key but deeeeeelicious dinner at the hotel with my family and my main man (yes, now’s probably as good a time as any to squeeze that detail in) followed by 11:30pm fireworks and a midnight toast that sparkled (literally). After, we headed down to the beachfront for a massive bonfire display (impressive in its own right) and only made more special thanks to the paper lanterns (a.k.a a small party detail I’m f-obsessed with so needless to say I couldn’t resist the “OMGod” when I saw them) that you light and then send up into the sky
There’s no way I could’ve even imagined a more ideal way to bid adieu to the amazing year that 2011 was.
